Hello Everyone,

I am looking for information on a mod that can be done to the Omni V
to improve frequency stability.

It involves the installation of a voltage regulator circuit somewhere in
the rig.

Has anyone done this mod in the field? How difficult is the mod and how
common and available are the parts?

What improvement was noted and was it worth doing?

Any information available first hand will be appreciated. I believe that
TenTec has a write-up on this available with the parts purchase. I
thought I'd ask all of you first. They're probably tired of hearing from
me several times a week!!

Also, does anyone know how to interpret the TenTec serial numbers to
decode that date of manufacture? I got Yaesu numbers down and would like
TenTec's code( if any ) also.

As always thanks for everyone's help.
