The OMNI-V did have some bad birdies in quite a few areas. The one
for me that was a real pain was the one around 21.029 or so. You can
always work around them, but it is a pain.
The OMNI-6 of mine is very clean. I can hear some real weak garbage
on the higher bands, but only with the antenna disconnected, and I
hardly ever operate with the antenna disconnected.
The hetrodyne scheme that TT uses is prone to this problem. However,
it is the very same scheme that allows operating without all of the
phase noise of the modern imports. So - which is better? I'll
keep my OMNI.
