[TenTec] OMNI-VI and SB-220

I use both an SB-200 and an AL-1200 with my VI. In my opinion, best bet is
to modify the amp for RF bias switching and use a TR switch (old Johnsons
are great) to get receive RF into the aux antenna jack on the Omni. There
have been any number of articles and Hints and Kinks pieces in QST on how to
modify amps for RF bias switching, including two by me on the SB-200 and
AL-1200. I am pretty sure there was an article on how to modify the SB-220.

RF bias switching is the way to go. No relays to wear out. No timing
problems. No RF-dissipating PIN diodes which also burn out. Dramatically
cooler running amplifier.
