[TenTec] Using the scout mobile.

Lane,
I have had no luck in using the scout mobile when the rig operates from a
simple 12 volt source. (i.e.: Small motor cycle battery.)I imagine you would
use some thing similar on your bike.
It seems the rig is designed for a supply voltage nearer to 14 volts.
This is Ok when you are in the car and the battery and alternator etc, are
delivering about 14 volts ... but from 12 volts I had distortion in the
audio, and severe (non mechanical) drift in the rig.
Maybe qrp will work. A shame when it is rated at 50 watts.
I was trying it out at about 25 watts... and gave it away as a bad joke.
A serious design fault on Ten Tec's behalf I am afraid.
Maybe the gang can recommend a fix!
