Not a bit off topic. The R-7000 will work great with TenTec rigs
since they are more forgiving of high SWRs than the competitors.

As for portability, forget it! What are you going to do about all those
little radials? Take the off every time you move? Pshaw...Make yourself
a dipole of some random length and feed it with open wire line and a
tuner. This could be used to instruct the scouts how to climb trees,
throw ropes, solder, twiddle knobs and watch meters. Plus, it will
probably work better and save you $$$$$$.
