Excuse me - I'm confused. My Omni VI drives the Heil headphones fine (and my
XYL
sez I'm getting hard of hearing!) About 8:00 to 8:30 position on the AF Gain
does the
trick. Just another opinion...

By the way, I built an "interface box" for the Heil mic plug to the radio,
and in limited
SSB work, it seems to work FB also. With my old rig, TT Delta, not enuf mic
drive
(different story.)

But it's gonna be worth the wait! I've had an Omni 6 for six years and just
got it converted to the Plus. Will be interesting to hear your opinion after
you have operated the radio for a few months.

Don't be too disappointed when you plug in your Heil headset. Heil headsets
are designed to work with audio voltage type outputs like the Kenwoods. Icom
and TenTec radios do not drive the headphones with very loud audio.

The pin connections for the micraphone are: Pin 1 = audio;  Pin 2 = Ground;
Pin 3 = PTT; and Pin 4 = VDC. If you plan on using VOX only, then of course
you only need to hook up pins 1 and 2.

If you ordered the power supply, the DC cable and connector are an intergal
part of the power supply. Otherwise you just get a blank connector that fits
the back of the Omni.

BEWARE!!! YOU ARE ABOUT TO BECOME HOOKED BY TENTEC!!!
