[TenTec] Argonaut 509 width of plastic strip?

Thanks to those who told me that I was missing the top strip from my
Argonaut 509. 

How wide does it have to be where the top meets the front panel?  My
estimate is 7 mm.  I want to make mine the correct size to avoid distorting
the panels.
