[TenTec] 2 questions

I have a couple of questions that I would like to throw out to the
collective wisdom of the group:

	1.  Does anyone have any experience with automatic antenna tuners in
general and LDG models in particular?  I don't want to throw a lot of
money toward one; are there other inexpensive ones that I should
consider besides the LDGs?  Are they worth it at all?

	2.  I earned my present license, KL7QX, while in Alaska, but now live
in Idaho.  I am occasionally chided, sometimes rudely, for either not
changing my call or not modifying it on air (like KL7QX/7) so that
others will not mistake me for an Alaskan station.  For the record, upon
establishing a contact, I always identify my QTH in the first
transmission.  The odd miffed ham I can deal with, but is there a
protocol, or perhaps an FCC mandate, that I am afoul of?
