[TenTec] Omni vi+ optical encoder

I have had to replace two encoders. The first was on a new Omni 6+
purchased last September and more recently on a 301 kit. Both were
replaced under warranty. The drag on the encoder tends to loosen up with
usage. I don't use the friction pads and am happy with the "feel" of the
encoder. My guess is that Ten-Tec has had a major quality issue with
these encoders. Maybe that's one good reason to buy a Pegasus.
