Thanks Mike for the correction, I agree it is over voltage with the crowbar
circuit. BTW, I have a model 280 PS I keep for standby. If memory serves
me(which isn't much these days!), the Model 280 was the PS for the Delta
and the low end priced PS for the Omni-C. My 280 PS works great, with no
hicups. I don't know why I keep it, but you know when it has the TT logo it
hard to part with!

The purpose of a crowbar is to shut the supply down
>instantly in the event of OVER VOLTAGE, not over current. Over voltage can
>happen if the pass transistor shorts and will cause the supply to put 25
>volts or more into the rig.
>
>The best deal I've seen in supplies from Ten-Tec is a model 280 (I think it
>is).... If the 280 is what I think it is (may have
>the wrong number) it is electrically identical to the supply which does have
>the speaker and matches the black Omni rigs. Ten-Tec switched from a design
>with one pass transistor in the Triton era supplies to a design with two
>pass transistors in the Omni era and thereafter. Avoid any with only one
>pass transistor.
