[TenTec] Tentec Amps

Chris,
Doing some additonal homework the past week-----????????????------I found
that several other amps using the 500z tubes had greater power output for
the units. Alot of the older ones are no longer made but on the market and
owners say that they put out 1500 watts. The Centurian is listed at 1200 or
1300 watts. Is this a feature built in the unit for unimagined extended
tube life of the already sturdy and hefty tubes. Surely the ads on new
units about the competition(Ameritron) being able to produce more output for
the same tube is a marketing tool and not sincerely representing the reason
why this is so. I brought this up earlier but no one responded. It is not
crutial to any decision at that power because the 200 -300watts are not
significant on the receiving end, especially at this level but I would like
to understand the design and purpose for it. No way do I doubt the
engineers at Tentec. I don't think they do anything without a reason and it
probably would have been easy for them to make the 1500++ rating on a pair
of 500z's. Why did they not do it? Curious and looking to understand the
how the competition is fighting for the dollar. I do believe that this ad
has to be and is intended for potential Tentec Centurian purchasers!
