[TenTec] Summary: no SPOT function on Pegasus

Greetings again...

The following is predicated on the Pegasus being in the CW Mode.
The Pegasus transmits on the frequency set by the dial. For this memo
14022.000 kHz
The Pegasus receives on the frequency set by the dial in this case
14022.000, BUT the receiver is internally OFFSET by the value entered as the
side tone. The dial reads on receive 14022.000 but the receiver is really
sitting on 14022.600 if the side tone is set to 600 Hz in the menu system.
This offset lets you hear the desired signal with a 600 Hz tone.
If you tune in a desired station with the same tone, 600 Hz in this case, as
the CW sidetone has been set to in the menu, then you will be on the same
frequency as the transmitting station.
The old notion of "zero beating" process as is used with the "spot" button
on my Corsair II is quaint, but now of only of historical interest.

Good Luck all

Sure wish TenTec would release the programming specification for Pegasus, it
would let the rest of us get on with decisions and activities to make the
radio do new things new ways....

Regards to all
