[TenTec] 3rd Party Omni-6 Firmware?

I have the same rig, and, like you, I seldom do phone preferring CW,
mostly... I prefer my audio without the DSP which adds slight distortion...

But, having said that Duane, my immediate thought when you stated that the
DSP "degrades" the SSB audio makes me wonder if your shift control is
correctly adjusted (internally) when in the 12 o'clock position? And,
whether you need a fresh alignment from the factory? This is my fourth Omni
VI series box (a plain Jane VI, a series two upgrade, and two factory VI+)
and among the things I have learned is that the internal oscillators drift
with aging... If your rig is over a year old, you may want to consider a
factory realignment to get the signal stream back into the centers of the
filters/dsp... It may make a marked difference in the functioning of your
audio dsp (NR) on SSB... Also, most of the species will have a 40 to 80
cycle error in the frequency readout within 3 months from being new
(component aging) and will benefit from a factory tweak...
