If the V is like the Omni VI, you must leave power to the rear plug of
the radio to keep the heater alive.  If the heater isn't keeping the
rcok warm during "off" periods, but does when you turn the unit on, I
suggest that your problem is not the heater.

1st choice for replacement parts: Ten-Tec
2nd Choice: Hamtronics has a part OV-1 which looks very similar to the
Ten-Tec heater, but I havent looked closely at it.  $40 I think.
