The Harvey Wells Z match was a commercial offering of a unique circuit with true transformer- balanced output  that appeared in May, 1955  QST.  It also appears on pages 353 and 354 of the 1958 ARRL Handbook.  However, from examining the schematic diagram, I seriously doubt that it has a matching range greater than the Johnson Matchbox.  - Corn - k4own
