Indeed, great service IS great service.

As far as reliability is concerned, the radio is MOST likely to
fail when it is brand new.  All the electronics are going through the
well known bathtub curve of reliability at that time.  And we could not
afford to
buy radios that were burned-in all the way through the infant mortality
hours of operation.  Further, the more complex and fully featured the
radio - the more parts - the more early failures.  You just cannot beat
the physics.

I think Ten-Tec is head and shoulders above the rest.
