[TenTec] Re: Keep it on the Listserve

It's not a matter of spam and virii making to the list but the spam and
virii that make to the individual's personal mailbox. I signed up with
Yahoo sometime in the last year or two and promptly proceeded to receive a
large increase in the amount of spam I receive (I don't do badly on the
virus front and the few I have received have been dutifully sidelined by my
free AVG virus scanner). I fought Yahoo to get de-listed, with minimum
success. I don't want to receive Yahoo's spam, thankyouverymuch. Other
forms of advertising, such as pop-up ads, are equally as annoying; yes, I
can (and do) have a pop-up stopper loaded, but that's not the issue; Yahoo's
"in your face" advertising is.

The sounds you hear are those of us who get enough spam and virii as it is
and don't need more. Plus, we would like to keep the Ten-Tec list whole.
Insofar as people don't mind the crap they get when they sign up with Yahoo,
insofar as there are people who don't mind bifurcating the lists, you'll
always have your option. At least while it is "free" from Yahoo. But count
me out.
