Carl,

Your new software sounds interesting.  I'll be looking forward to seeing it,
although I doubt I'll have an Orion before the TT hamfest this fall.  Do you
already know how to get a receive signal from the Orion to the RX340?  I did
a quick scan of the manual and it doesn't look like there's a sub-receiver
antenna connection.
