I had exactly the same trouble, but was powering a 580 Delta with the supply
at the time. I was adjusting an antenna tuner with low power from the rig
when the supply quit. After that, hitting the key would make the display go
black but letting the key up would put the rig back into receive. Luckily I
had another supply to use as a backup. Called Garland Jenkins at Ten-Tec
for advice. He suggested the bridge rectifier might be the culprit but that
it might be several things. I ordered new pass transistors, a new
rectifier, etc. Wish I had done the repairs so I could be more help to you
and tell you just what the trouble was.

SO -- when you do find the trouble, please post your findings to help me
isolate my trouble!

73 and good luck with the troubleshooting,

Mike N4NT

While adjusting my MFJ antenna tuner, my Omni C kicked out of transmit
(too high an SWR I assume). In the past, just shutting the rig down then
powering up would reset it. Now every time I key the mic or use the lock
position, it shuts down but will return to receive when unkeyed. The Omni
and the 280 power supply both turn off on transmit but works fine in
receive. Both the fuse on the power supply and the radio check fine with an
ohm meter. What have I blown? ( I do have the owner's manual but I there's
no troubleshooting section.

Thanks,
Jeff
