Yes, Lee, you can indeed get the Orion to suit your tastes. When I don't have a few kids over to enjoy contesting my preference is 20M DXing and ragchewing. It took me a while to get it like I like it, and sometimes I have to touch a setting to compensate for band conditions - but visitors to the shack's usual first comment is "Wow, that's one fine sounding radio." 

So use Ten Tec's, and Bill's, settings as a starting point, take a "one thing at a time" approach, and keep plenty of notes. It won't be long until you can touch the right setting the first time, every time. But until that day comes, you want to be able to get back to where you were a while ago.
