In general, disc capacitors which are placed under extremes of voltage or
power can have heating issues, leading to change of capacitance as the cap
heats up and cools alternately.  They are also piezoelectric in character,
and at enough power in the audio range have been found to have a transducer
output of a audible tone.

Doorknob caps are better suited to high current applications from reports
observed over the years, and application in other high power amplifiers.
