Thanks Jerry for the explanation; it makes sense.  The solution for me would 
be to extend my feedline by 60 feet.  I pictured feedline zig zagging across 
my back yard (gotta put it somewhere) and decided things are okay as-is, hi. 
  One thing that develops with experience is an instinct for knowing when to 
leave something alone.  When I was in the Army and right out of signal 
school at my first field assignment, on the first day my shift chief showed 
me racks of old vacuum tube gear humming along that we were supposed to 
maintain and said, "Rule no. one:  If it works, don't #### with it."
That was how my real technician education began.

I have heard this before several times but never with the length of 1/2 the 
antenna.   What I always heard was to avoid a balanced feed lenth that's an 
even multiple of 1/4 w. at your lowest operating frequency (band).   If I 
add 1/2 of my antenna I've got a length that's 1/2 wave on 75--ooops.  The 
Matchmaster seems to be happy though but I'd like to know why 1/2 of the 
antenna is added in.
