I would suspect (mebbe even "bet" that the shield/braid isn't connected
vy well (if at all) at one end of yr cable.  If at all possible, I try
never to use RS cables/jumpers for that very reason.

Why not make up some of your own cables, using something w/a good braid &
quality connectors & report back to the reflector?
