Yes Bill, I meant "remote", not just removable.
But this time ALL functions should be remote.
On my IC-706 I had to run a separate line to connect the key to.

Being removable, you mean having a detachable control head, such as many of
the present day automobile radio receivers offer.  Removing the control head
really  helps to discourage  those who deal in stolen goods.
