Scott:

Did you try re-seating the jumper plug in the keying loop in the back of the 
transceiver that is intended to connect to a linear amplifier.  Occasionally 
that jumper will become unseated an render the transmitter inoperable.  Just 
pull the jumper, wipe the contacts with something mildly abrasive, and 
re-install.
