Rick asked "How many times do you make this adjustment
in a 24 hour period?"

As a topband dx enthusiast, I am constantly adjusting
it.  I might have adjusted it 20 times or more within
a two hour period last night - seriously.  When
encountering a weak signal in the noise, it can often
help to either raise OR lower the threshold.  And if
you change to a higher band from 160M, it's imperative
that you lower the threshold and vice versa.
