Mike:  Thanks for the story, re Ten Tec.  I remember well using qsk with a Johnson TR switch, Valiant II and Drake 2B early on in my career.  B4 that it was a separate antenna and ride the rf gain on the receiver.  
That was terrific for traffic handling on 80, but then the dx bug hit and tr switch made all the difference.  

I just "re-acquired" a Johnson Valiant II.  It is going on 160 AM...never did get on AM with the original Valiant.  No need to put it on cw with the Ten Tec's on the table.

Some of us are slow learners....in almost 40 years being a ham, it took me 35 to discover Ten Tec.  Glad you found them earlier than I.  I am now a happy user of both Corsair and Orion.
