What I did not like about the older models is that they are
ALWAYS tuning automatically, even when you don't want them to.
So, in a snowstorm with a bit of wind, or when driving down the
highway with the mobile, the antenna is constantly changing its
SWR back and forth and the tuner keeps trying to follow.  Not a
perfect solution.

In the meantime SGC has brought out an add-on which disables this
"feature" once the antenna has been matched.

I chose the AH-4 from Icom because it has to be instructed
(manually) to retune.  Once it is tuned, it stays put.
It was also a few dollars cheaper.
It only works with Icom rigs "as is", but with a simple home-brew
circuit (about $5) you can use it with any rig.
