[TenTec] Orion Sweep

My comment on the 'sweep' 'click' issue is to try a different set of
headphones since the click is heard in the headphones and not on the
speaker, and no one else that I have heard of has experienced the same
problem. TT will probably tell you, first, to use headphones with an
impedence (AC, not DC) of 32 ohms or greater.
I must have drawn a 'lucky number' as since last July my sweep itself has
never frozen. Sometimes my Orion is turned on on a Friday morning and does
not get turned off until Sunday night. But I do have the external fan and I
do have plenty of air circulation area around the Orion.
I do however, continue to have a RF power shut down when I'm running (CW)
split VFO's. If VFO B is assigned to TX and VFO A is assigned to RX, AND THE
SWEEP IS TURNED ON, I will encure a random RF power shut down and the only
way to recover is to do a radio power off/on sequence. That was reported to
TT last September and it's not fixed yet. So to operate split, I just turn
the Sweep function off and I do not have the problem.
The only other small glitch I have is when I press the B>A button, the mode
in A changes to USB, no matter what mode is set in B. Also reported to TT
last September and it's not fixed yet.
Considering the complexity of the Orion, in my opinion, thats pretty darned
good firmware work!
