Anothier item to check when the display changes color is the input voltage,

When I first Got my Orion,

i noticed some fluctuation in the screen contrast,

This was tracked down to the 12V power supply not providing enough voltage,  
especially during transmit.

fixted that and the screen was solid.

Don't know if this is the problem but worth a check
