[TenTec] UPS

Perhaps UPS is handling claims better now. I had a very bad experience
about a year ago. I buy and sell large amounts of surplus and used towers,
antennas, etc.. I shipped a number of properly packaged solar panels to a
ham out of state and they arrived damaged. (forklift tire tracks on the
box) As the shipper, I filed a claim & it was denied. I even sent them
digital photos of the box with the tire tracks! I refunded the money to my
customer & I was out $800. My attorney told me that if a common carrier
accepts a package, they are responsible for safe delivery, but would cost
more to take them to court than the loss.. I didn't even receive the cost
of shipping or insurance from UPS.,.
I now ship all by priority mail or FEDEX... When I send any of my TEN TEC
rigs for service I request it be shipped by FEDEX.. The fedex delivery
trucks are owned by the driver and they are motivated to avoid damage.. Not
handled by teamsters... as with the Brown trucks..
