Depends on your amp.  Many modern amps still require close to 100 watts
(carrier) for 1500 Watts out. 

The Orion II must still provide a minimum of 25 watts carrer with 100 watts
PEP at 100% modulation to be useful.  Which it did just fine on 2.032.
