Kip, about five years ago I bought a Corsair II.
It was my second back up rig.
I paid $475.00 with one SSB filter included.
They hold value very well and I would think $450.00 should get you a good  
one and probably some filters tossed in.
Look around and don't be to quick in picking one.
Look around and find one near you to test drive if you can.
It is a great rig and very easy to work on.
If you put in all the filters you will have one of the best cw rigs  around.
