What I'm hearing doesn't sound like "leading edge" and I definitely
didn't hear anything like it in any of the v1 versions.  As Bob 5B4AGN
mentioned, I have a dim recollection that it's also present on ssb,
but it's been a while since I tried operating ssb with v2.059.
