[TenTec] 546 Omni C Questions

Ken,

The ALC limits the RF power out.

If I remember correctly, there is also an RF gain control for the receiver.
There was also a switch for AGC as fast, slow and off. I don't know that
anything was different in the receiver between modes other than selecting a
different filter.

John

John,

Thanks, you did answer most of my questions.

You said:

"The ALC is a variable setting to limit output."

Is that TX RF output, or RX audio output?

I don't see any AGC controls. Does the rig have AGC on the receiver? Is it
audio derived or in the IF? Does it have different AGC action depending on
mode selected?

Thanks again,

Ken N6KB
