I ordered my Orion without the autotuner because I also ordered a 238B tuner. Since I use an amplifier quite often, I felt the internal tuner was unnecessary as I needed a bigger tuner. Also, if the internal tuner fails, the whole radio has to go in for repair, wheras if the 238B fails and I can't fix it myself, all I have to send in is the tuner, and I can use the Orion with a backup tuner until I get my 238B back. 73, Todd
