Yes, I hear the same thing. I just noticed tonight that maybe there is an 
association with the AF level. I actually have heard this in previous V2 
versions, but only after they activated the slow acting AGC. V1 does not do 
this.
I can adjust hang time to .04, for example, and it helps; but on weak 
signals or static crashes, this is no good. I guess the hang time keeps the 
AGC activated unless there is a long pause, then the distorion hits on the 
next sound.
CW may sound better because of the BW setting; it is masked. If you widen it 
out, you will hear it. I think adjusting the BW is the same as you adjusting 
the RX EQ to promote lows...
