[TenTec] 229A Tuner question

David:

If your other rig has an output that will power the tuner lamps, why not
just make a "Y" cable between the 2 radios and the tuner. Put diodes in
series with the legs of the "Y" that run from each radio to isolate
them, so one radio doesn't try to power the other, or worse. That way,
either radio will light the lamps. The voltage drop through the diodes
will not affect lamp brightness much and will actually extend lamp life.

The panel lights will be on when the Corsair II is on. Here is where it gets sticky. If I want to use some other hf rigs, It will require leaving the Corsair II on all the time just to power the panel lights.

I do not have a problem modifying my stuff, because I am not saving it for the next collector.
