Why the need for the zener diodes?  Why and what indicates that the meters 
read low?    Sounds like some vague and unsound thinking to me.  Of course, 
if you plan to sent it to Tentec for service, be sure to specifically 
mention any concerns that you might have.

I purchased mine in 1991 from Tentec.  That makes it 17 years old.  Other 
than open it up for cleaning, lube the fan motor and check for any signs of 
heating on the tube sockets, and give things a general "looking over" it has 
performed flawless.  The Bird 43P show some 1400 watts output on 20M and it 
has the original tubes.  Estimated hours are now at about 3500.
