I have a 242 VFO that has a  recently rebuilt VFO . The dial 
is a bit off (dial travel)  but clean and very nice. W/ Documents.
I suspect the dacron cord is stretched a bit thus the over travel.
TT had a dial kit I've not used those in some time. 

Don't know what a 240 is. Did you mean the 540?
$125+ ship for the VFO and looking for a broken 540 audio board
really old style. Mine is shot. The schematics on the stock 540 don't
match what I have so I'm assuming it's an original design the transistors
are round!
