John, Likely the added fan would be good if your shack is 80 degrees F a lot. If nothing else, it is going to promote circulation of air around the rig, although its prime mission is to cool the heat sink. Or add your own fan from Mouser, in their ball bearing line of fans. -Stuart Rohre K5KVH
