[TenTec] What model does tentec start with using computercontrol?

The OMNI VI and VI+ both did computer control using a superset of the ICOM
command set. You can use any of the ICOM level converters to drive it, and
in some software us the IC-735 profile to control many (most?) of the
controllable features of the rig. The OMNI V also had computer control, but
it was a proprietary set of commands, and there is very little software that
works with it. One of them that does (or did) is WriteLog, and that's
because Wayne Wright, the author, had an OMNI V. Hope this helps. (I don't
know about the Paragon's).

The OMNI VI Plus lets you control the rig from contest logging software,
etc.

My experience with the OMNI VI Plus was that I needed at 2 serial ports or 1
serial and 1 parallel port on my computer: 1 serial for rig control and 1
serial or parallel for PTT or CW keying.

I have an Omni V but it has a decidely non-standard DB25 serial
interface on it. It was impossible to get CAT working on it until I
installed Carl's (N4PY) Omni V.9 ROM which transformed the serial
interface into something straightforward. You'll still need a separate
serial port to switch the PTT. I don't think it's possible in software,
but I could be wrong.
