[TenTec] What's Next?

I hit a problem with build 2.063XG on my Orion 1 (with v2 mod implemented).

In outline, after changing from RF to AF derived AGC (and I think vice versa), the Orion seems to stop sending data to the computer (which was running N1MM). Sorry this is only a very high level explanation. I'd like to have rerun it to give a proper detailed description - but all the gear is packed up in the car for IARU Region 1 Field Day this weekend! I'll rerun it when I get back home next Tuesday and post a proper description - but I thought it was worth getting it on your radar now. Of course it's hardly a serious problem (we'll still be using that build in R1 FD) but you might think about putting a fix in while you're tidying up the build.

We will begin reviewing the current status of the Original Orion V1
and V2 firmware. Assessing open problems, customer requests, etc., and
developing a plan of attack. The goal is to resolve open issues and to
bring into the Orion firmware the enhancements and reliability that we
brought into the Orion 2 V2.043B firmware.

I do have a few beta testers lined up, and am always willing to take
in a few more. If you are interested, then send me an email at jhenry
at tentec.com. Whereas I would like to include everyone that asks, it
is cumbersome to handle a group larger than a handful.

If there are problems that you are aware of in the latest V1 and/or V2
codes for the Original Orion, please send them to me as well. Not
every problem will get resolved, but they will at least be reviewed.

Thanks,
John Henry
