Thanks all for your responses!

I realized that I lied when I said "all I did was change frequency."  After reading the first couple of responses, it occured to me that when I was originally operating, I did have the head phones on. When I changed frquency, I also disconnected the head phones and YES,  I left the monitor on. So I was feeding back through the speaker.

I'm not quite sure why I didn't put that together.....thanks all for helping me see the forest through the trees!!!

Dave,
I had something similar with my Orion 1.
I was picking up an AM broadcast station over the Orion speaker when I
transmitted as well as some feedback.
I found out that it was caused by a cable adaptor that was plugged into one
of the jacks on the back of the Orion....a 1/8" mono to RCA jack converter
plug.
I clipped the 1/8" jack off the cable, soldered on an RCA jack and the
problem disappeared.

Hi all,

???? I have had the Omni VII since right after Dayton 2009.? Works great!?
However, I ran into a problem last night. When I tried to transmit ( SSB ) I
get an extremly loud feed back shriek through the speaker!? It almost seems
as thought the radio is transmitting at the same time it's receiving. It
just started doing it as I had just finished a QSO not more that 10 minutes
prior to this problem. I did not change anything from the last QSO to the
next accept for the frequency.

??? Has anyone else encountered this problem?? Does anyone have any
suggestions?

Your comments are most welcomed.

Dave,? KB9EPL
