[TenTec] Need help understanding Orion II receive artifact

The hardware AGC does not come into play at all on the Orion and Orion II
until a signal is greater than S9+20 to S9+30 somewhere in the 9 mhz IF
passband. If hardware AGC pumping is occuring, the first choice for
removing it is with the attenuator.

Thanks, Hank -

I should have figured that out at the time (basically use RF gain control to
keep out of whatever AGC loop/limiter is doing this) but so it goes. Anyway,
no real need to do any extra research on my behalf - your brief explanation
and admonition for me to RTFM is sufficient for next time around,

Thanks again,
