Phil,
The 715 works on ANY TT SSB radio. You will need to choose a specific cable
to connect with your transceiver's microphone connector and may need a mic
adapter for your microphone to terminate on the 715 as the 715 has both a
mini phono (two connector) jack and 8 pin connector while the common
TenTec transceiver microphone connectors were (are) 4 pin or tip/ring/sleeve
(stereo) quarter inch connectors.
If you adjust the 715 (using a 1000 -2000 Hz tone) so that your radio has
the same output with the 715 in (on) or out (off) you should be able to
achieve up to 6 dB average output power increase while maintaining linearity
and bandwidth. With the 715 set properly it can seem to others that you've
"turned on the amplifier" when in fact your peak power output is unchanged.
I've had some great fun breaking through some small DX pile-ups on 80 and 40
with just 100 Watts from my OMNI-VI+ (now my OMNI-VII) and the TT 715, with
an old ground mounted vertical.
Good luck and enjoy the 715....
73 es DX,
Gary - AB9M

Good morning folks,
I have not seen any replies to my posts, the last one asking if any one has
tried the TT 715 speech processor with older TT radios.
If I did something wrong or offended any one, I apologize.
