I believe all that was ever necessary for the Argosy to cover 30m was the 
addition of the appropriate crystal, but from your query it seems you don't 
even have the position on the bandswitch.

I recently advertised looking for an oldie goodie Argosy. It arrived
and turns out to not have 30m. I suppose it is
a really early rig (S/N 525-0928). As I have not bee following Tentec
gear for nearly that long, I wonder if there is or ever
was a mod to add 30m to this old classic Argosy.
