[TenTec] Fwd: OmniVI logic board work

Hi Barry,

This has been my experience as well. But having some decent equipment on hand
allows me to confirm my hunches.. Hi

I do appreciate your feedback.

Have you heard anything about the DDS replacement for the Ten Tec PTO in terms of how clean it is?
I have been rebuilding Ten Tec PTO's for over 10 years using Mobile One synthetic grease and to the best of my knowledge,
none have failed. Of course, I don't follow all of the ones I did for clients. I have two Corsair II's in my shack. One I rebuilt the PTO 10 years ago and the other
was about 6 years ago. Neither of them have given problems. They are stable, clean and work very well.
I have not looked into the PTO stabilizer circuit but plan to do s at some point.

I don't know how clean the DDS board is and again with my interest in weak signal work, I don't want to risk losing ground.
I have found a large quantity of the unobtainable IC's in the Corsair frequency counter but so far don't have the means to program them.

One other tidbit... again in my opinion, the Timewave 599ZX audio DSP filter works very well with the Corsair; It's AGC action is faster as well. I also like the bypass switch
if I need to quickly pull it out of the audio path.

My two cents:

- don't bother with the strong off-channel signal; the K3 and the O6
fitted with IR cw roofing filter will easily handle this
- it's really not that important that the two closely separated
signals be that weak; the K3's failure to separate closely spaced
signals occurs regardless of signal strength in my experience

However, I know how bad the K3 resolves multiple signals close together

K3 does clearly resolve/process the two signals.
