[TenTec] Using Aux power and "spare" functions on Argosy 525

Ok, call me stupid but I'm new to all of this. I have an Argosy 525 and I want to run some other stuff from the 12V out on the back of the rig, but when I put a meter on it, it doesn't show any voltage. The Tech manual wasn't much use either. Ideally I'd like to have Powerpole connectors in the back of the rig so I can plug other stuff into it like my audio SCAF filter, antenna tuner, etc. I'm also wondering what the "spare" RCA jacks are for.
