I found that the trouble I was listing to to many ts 590 2 on 40m ,1 on160m 
they were distorted I check my orion with hams I new and they were sounded 
good.

If you are getting distortion on strong ssb signals, does it clear up if you
reduce the RF Gain?  Make sure the AGC isn't turned off.  Check the AGC
settings.

Do you hear any distortion on equally strong CW signals?

SSB and/or CW?
Can you describe the distortion?
It is distorted through headphones?
Distorted through speaker?
What are the PBT and BW settings?
Are either the NB or NR on?
